Today God taught me another profound lesson through my children while walking in the rain downtown. I only had one umbrella and if I chose to cover my head my children would be wet, so I made the decision to allow them to hold the umbrella over there heads and to hold my hand so I could lead them. They were holding the umbrella over their entire face so they were not able to see where they were going, occasionally they would let go and wander, and finally I yelled, “DON’T LET GO OF MY HAND YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO SEE WHERE YOU GO AND YOU MIGHT GET HURT.” and there it was… the moment God spoke to me and said, “You do the same thing.”
In a moment I realized that even when I am under Gods protection from the “rain” if I am not holding his hands I am still putting myself in danger and walking blindly. I also knew that holding his hand equates to being in the word of God, praying, and fasting, all which are required to be led by God. My heart overflows with how patient God is with me, thank you Jesus.
